5 Bold moves. No #1 seeds this year?

For the first time in NCAA tournament history, none of the four No. 1 seeds have made it to the Elite Eight after Alabama and Houston were eliminated in Friday’s Sweet 16.

Jason Cherish, Andy Henry, Ian Marks, Timothy Leiker, and Michael Schlotterbeck were the only five people to not advance a single #1 seed in their bracket past the Sweet 16.

San Diego State pulled off a shocker against ‘Bama at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center, with guard Darrion Trammell putting up 21 points and five rebounds to reach their program’s first Elite Eight. The Aztecs will now go up against No. 6 seed Creighton in Sunday’s battle for a spot in the Final Four.

Miami edged out Houston 89-75 at Kansas City, with Nijel Pack leading the way with 26 on 8-of-12 shooting (7-of-10 from three). The Hurricanes look to enter the Final Four for the second consecutive season when they face Texas on Sunday.
