GOLDEN BUCKETS

Big Blue Nation Falls to the Underdogs

In an unforeseen turn of events, the No. 14 seed Oakland Golden Grizzlies, led by an extraordinary 3-point display from Jack Gohlke, overcame No. 3 seed Kentucky with a score of 80-76, marking the most significant surprise of this NCAA men’s tournament thus far.

This loss adds to Kentucky’s recent string of postseason disappointments, now with a 1-3 record in its past three tournaments, including two first-round eliminations as No. 2 and No. 3 seeds.

For the Golden Grizzlies, their victory over the eight-time national champions signifies a historic achievement; it marks their second win in the NCAA tournament but their first within the main bracket of 64 teams.

It currently is the largest upset on the board. 33 people earned some nice first round bonus points.
